At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Jockey O Chavez, the rider of THE SAINT, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) in that he failed to ride his horse out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Jockey O Chavez was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month, to be deferred, with effect from 2 June 2025 and to expire on 1 July 2025, both dates inclusive.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Uzair, the rider of THE SHADOW, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding THE SHADOW, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to EMPHATIC and THE WILD FIRE at the 1100M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Uzair’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 26 May 2025 and to expire on 7 June 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This race was rescheduled to start at 6:20pm.

3	ROYAL COMMANDER (M Zaki)	Inconvenienced in the concluding stages. Jockey was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding. He explained that after jumping well, he felt that his horse may not have been sound, thereafter he took the opportunity to allow his mount to settle in a rhythm rather than placing it under pressure to soon in the race. 4	TERMS OF REFERENCE (S Salee)	Jockey reported it was not his intention to lead, however, shortly after the jump, his mount showed better pace than anticipated and he decided to go forward and lead.
5	PACIFIC SONIC (L De Souza)	Jockey stated that his instructions were to obtain cover from his wide barrier, however, after jumping from a wide barrier, he saw an opportunity to cross the field easily and ended up in a more forward position than anticipated.

Jockey R Iskandar appeared before the Panel who reviewed several of his previous rides. He was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts to the end of the race so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards.

TUESDAY, 20 MAY 2025, SLTC TRACKWORK

Trainer L Moy was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for presenting GROOVY for slow work on the grass track which was designated for fast work on the above date at SLTC.

RACE 1 (R0296) CLASS 5B – 1275M (Track II +4), SUNDAY, 3 MAY 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2025

The fine of RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) imposed on Trainer AB Abdullah (RUNNING SPIRIT) was rescinded.

A subsequent report from the Veterinary Department revealed that SELANGOR BROWN which had fractured and dislocated its off fore fetlock, was subsequently euthanized.
