RACE 1 (R1186) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) COMMANDER HANDICAP

SUPER BB (SU Lim) which reared badly on jumping, was slow to begin, losing several lengths, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

Approaching the 1500M-mark, ROCK N ROLL (App R Nuqman) shifted inwards, resulting in SEVEN SUNDAE (Y Aify) clipping its heels, stumbling and dislodging Jockey Y Aify. NOVA FACTOR (AM Aizat) and HEARTS OF GOLD (App SN Shiva) which were following, both had to take evasive actions in this incident.

At a subsequent inquiry, App R Nuqman, the rider of ROCK N ROLL in the presence of his acting master, Trainer I Ismadi, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting inwards, when insufficiently clear of SEVEN SUNDAE, resulting in SEVEN SUNDAE clipping its heels, stumbling and Jockey Y Aify being dislodged.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App R Nuqman’s guilty plea, disciplinary records and mitigating factors. App R Nuqman was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) race days, effective from Monday, 10^th October 2022 and to expire on Sunday, 23^rd October 2022, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (2.35pm).

HEARTS OF GOLD was hanging out in the straight, finishing the race wide.

Jockeys AM Aizat and SS Vanan, the riders of NOVA FACTOR and LUCK HAPPY respectively, were both warned against the practice of using their whip when their mounts were clearly out of contention.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of SEVEN SUNDAE was exempted from weighing-in, was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit to continue riding for the day.

RACE 2 (R1187) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) RUSTIC HANDICAP

JOYFUL (App R Nuqman) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

NAPOLEON (App S Sia) jumped awkwardly outwards.

SOON YOU THINK (R Rueven) was pulling hard and was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.

Shortly after straightening, JOYFUL was inconvenienced when TAIWAN CAPTAIN (Y Aify) rolled outwards slightly.

NAPOLEON was hanging out in the straight.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of SOON YOU THINK today, Trainer K Coetzee explained that after having had a poor run at SLTC on 10^th September 2022, he freshen the horse up and it had trialed well. This in his opinion accounted for the improved performance.

RACE 3 (R1188) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) CRUISER HANDICAP

As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey S Salee to replace App A Saran, as the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT, who was disqualified.

CHIEF CLERK (KC Tham) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start

Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of SECOND CHANCE was shown the video of his ride in the straight and he was warned to ensure to ride all his mounts so as to leave no room for query in future.

Jockey SU Lim, the rider of VALUE OF JUSTICE was warned against the practice of using his whip when his mount was clearly out of contention.

A post-race veterinary examination of MY AIM (App R Nuqman) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1189) CLASS 4 (A) -1600m (lc) PSYCHE HANDICAP

PENTAGON and DISRETELY RED are course scratching, as both had sustained bruised near fore sole and each will required to pass the veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

At approximately the 150M-mark, PURPLE RAIN LADY (App SN Shiva) shifted in to obtain a clear run.

DAVINCI (M Yusri) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of FIRST COMMAND was questioned with regards to his tactics today. His instructions were to jump well and place the horse handy to mid-field, however, the video clearly shows that he chased the horse to the lead. Jockey SS Vanan was warned that he would be expected to make a greater attempt to ride to instructions in future, failing which actions may be taken against him.

A post-race veterinary examination of KING RAVANA (KC Tham) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App S Sia to replace App A Saran, as the rider of NOT USUAL PRINCE, who was disqualified.

VIETNAM CAPTAIN, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruised off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

EXDREAM (App SN Shiva) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

RELAU STAR (SS Vanan) was hanging in badly throughout the race.

A post-race veterinary examination of NOT USUAL PRINCE (App S Sia) revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

LET’S COME ON BABY, D’GREAT EFFORT and YOU ARE GENIUS all are course scratching. LET’S COME ON BABY had sustained stone bruise off fore foot. D’GREAT EFFORT had sustained bruised sole near fore whilst YOU ARE GENIUS had sustained bruised off knee. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

CHERISH (SS Vanan) was slow into stride.

VICTOREM (M Yusri) jumped awkwardly inwards.

A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN ROOSTER (App S Sia) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Acting on veterinary advice that ROCK ARTIST (S Salee) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5.24pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

ULURU (Y Aify) was slow into stride.

RACE 4 (R1147) – Class 5(B) 1300m (lc) HORNBILL HANDICAP

The Panel of Stewards today concluded an Inquiry into the running and handling of HELLO MONDAY, trained by Trainer K Coetzee and ridden by Jockey M Yusri in the above race.

After taking all evidence into consideration and reviewing the videos, Jockey M Yusri was severely warned that he must ride all his mounts in a manner, so as to leave no room for query.

RACE 11 (R1154) CLASS 4(B) – 1200M (sc) BLACK NAPED ORIOLE HANDICAP

The Panel of Stewards today concluded an Inquiry into the running and handling of POLO BOY, trained by Trainer S Siva and ridden by Jockey K Eirwan in the above race.

Jockey K Eirwan pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are:

He feigned the use of his whip on several occasions in the straight.

When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey K Eirwan’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months, effective from today, Sunday, 9^th October 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 8^th April 2023, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM20,000/-. He was advised of his right of appeal (1:30pm).

RACE 11 (R1154) CLASS 4(B) – 1200M (sc) BLACK NAPED ORIOLE HANDICAP

After studying all angles of the video and hearing the evidence from Mr Harichandran Subramaniam, (Senior Starter) and Mr Jamaludin bin Saini (barrier handler) (NRIC No. 620309-08-5119), who is in charged of the chequered flag behind the barriers and App SN Shiva, the rider of YOUARETHEBEST. The Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that Mr Harichandran Subramaniam should have been more alert and notice that the chequered flag behind the barriers had been put down after initially having been raised. They were also strongly of the opinion that App SN Shiva should never have dismounted from YOUARETHEBEST when the gelding was standing quietly. App SN Shiva was severely reprimanded for having done so and he was advised that he should be ready at all times once loaded into the barriers.

RACE 1 (R1144) CLASS 4(A) – 1400m (lc) BEE -EATER HANDICAP

Acting on veterinary advice that FIRST COMMAND (SS Vanan) which was fractious in its barrier, kicked the back gates and had sustained a bruised off hind cannon and hock, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 12.47pm. FIRST COMMAND will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SHOWCASE THE GOLD (App A Azizi) which hesitated as the start was effected, was slow into stride, losing considerable ground and as such, the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

STAR GENIUS (R Rueven) was slow into stride.

DISCRETELY RED (K Eirwan) over-raced from the 1000M-mark till the 700M-mark and was difficult to settle.

Passing the 700M-mark, QIJI DIAMOND (Y Aify) run up onto the heels of LIM’S PIPER (App R Nuqman), clipping its heels and stumbled, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced momentarily.

STAR GENIUS raced wide in the backstraight and rounding the turn, finishing the race wide.

Jockeys Y Aify and R Rueven, the riders of QIJI DIAMOND and STAR GENIUS respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of QIJI DIAMOND revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, QIJI DIAMOND will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again and STAR GENIUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

CHARMING DIAMOND and LAGO DE COMO, both are course scratching. CHARMING DIAMOND had sustained bruised off fore fetlock, while LAGO DE COMO had sustained sore back. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PREMIUM RUSH (App WW Cheah) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

NAUGHTY KID (App Clyde Leck) which was fractious, reared up badly, brushed the gate on jumping and was slow into stride. The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

App WW Cheah, the rider of PREMIUM RUSH reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PREMIUM RUSH revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of NAUGHTY KID revealed no obvious abnormality and QUASAR (AK Lim) returned broken-winded. QUASAR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Prior to ‘All Clear’, the Panel of Stewards reviewed the video of the start of NAUGHTY KID. After reviewing the video, NAUGHTY KID was deemed a runner.

The state of track was upgraded to ‘Good’ after the running of this race.

RACE 3 (R1146) CLASS 5(A) – 1300m (lc) BUFFY FISH OWL HANDICAP

HEART OF GOLD, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised off fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ROCK N ROLL (KC Tham) jumped awkwardly inwards, carrying KEEN DRAGON (R Rueven) onto EASY SOUTH EAST (App WW Cheah).

Passing the 1200M-mark, AUSSIE EAGLE (K Eirwan) dipped.

SHANGHAI CAPTAIN (Y Aify) rolled in, in anticipation of the short course turn, resulting in ROCK N ROLL being carried inwards onto KEEN DRAGON.

Passing the 500M-mark, App R Nuqman, the rider of GOOD NEWS felt something was amiss with his mount and he eased the horse down and subsequently losing his stirrup irons and was dislodged. App R Nuqman was exempted from weighing-in and was examined by the Club Medical Officer. He was stood down for the remainder of the day.

EASY SOUTH EAST which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOOD NEWS (App R Nuqman) returned severely lame near fore and was humanely euthanized. A post-race veterinary examination of KEEN DRAGON revealed no obvious abnormality.

AMISTAD and SUNTZU, both are course scratching. AMISTAD had sustained a sore back while SUNTZU had sustained sole bruised near fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

FLEDGELING (App WW Cheah) was slow into stride, despite being urged.

A post-race veterinary examination of THE ICEMAN (App Clyde Leck) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards will open an Inquiry into the running and handling of HELLO MONDAY (M Yusri) on a date to be fixed.

Emergency acceptors THE JEWELLER and SWEET LODGE were withdrawn due to a capacity field.

DARK WIZARD (AM Aizat) & ULURU (App S Sia) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

LITTLE MASTER (AK Lim) which stood and was slowly away, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

GORDON G (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, SONG RIVER (SS Vanan) had to steady when SING ROULETTE (S Salee) shifted inwards. Jockey S Salee, the rider of SING ROULETTE was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future. Shortly thereafter, SONG RIVER again had to steady when ULURU shifted in. App S Sia, the rider of ULURU in the presence of his Employing Trainer R Lines, was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

SING ROULETTE raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of KIPEH reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of KIPEH revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MY AIM (App WW Cheah) and ULURU revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of FIRE AWAY (App A Azizi), Trainer S Deva Raj stated that the horse was unable to handle the heavy going on 24^th September 2022 and he attributed that today’s improved performance to the good going. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

Trainer HY Cheng, the trainer of DARK WIZARD was fined RM2,000/- under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(2)(b) for failing to ensure that DARK WIZARD which was placed 2^nd, was presented to the holding yard for its post-race samples collections immediately after the race as required. DARK WIZARD was subsequently brought back to the holding yard for its post race samples to be collected.

RACE 6 (R1149) ENRICH STAKE A (SW) – 1000m (lc) SPOTTED DOVE STAKES

GRAND CROSS (App SN Shiva) and VALENCIA (KC Tham) bumped on jumping.

RELAU STAR (AK Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped VETRI (J Low), resulting in VETRI being slow into stride.

App SN Shiva, who rode his 10^th winner on GRAND CROSS today, will be entitled to claim 3kgs over with effect from Monday, 3^rd October 2022.

RACE 7 (R1150) CLASS 5 (A) – 1000m (sc) LITTLE EGRET HANDICAP

SAGE, COMECATCHME and GUILTY PLEASURES all are course scratching. SAGE had sustained bruised near fore fetlock, COMECATCHME had sustained stone bruised near fore and GUILTY PLEASURES had sustained skin allergy. Each will be required to pass veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SUPER GREAT which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Trainer V Sivan was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c ) for failing to produce the declared colours on SUPER GREAT (App A Saran).

LAST CHANCE (M Yusri), AYAAN (Y Aify) and BIG G (SS Vanan) were slow into stride.

Passing the 350M-mark, KING POWER (KC Tham) shifted over the heels of USA CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) for clear running and in so doing, bumped PERFECT RUN (App WW Cheah). Shortly thereafter, PERFECT RUN rolled in resulting in KING POWER having to steady.

Post-race veterinary examinations of AYAAN revealed no obvious abnormality and BIG G returned broken-winded. BIG G will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

ZHU CAPTAIN, a course scratching as it had respiratory allergy will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again. As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey Y Aify to replace App WW Cheah, as the rider of BAGHDAD.

As there was no suitable rider available when Jockey AK Lim was stood down by the Club Medical Officer, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of QIJI ACHEEVA at 4.58pm.

ELITE SAINT (SS Vanan) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of ELITE SAINT was fined RM1,000/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip passing the 300M-mark.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey S Salee to replace App R Nuqman, as the rider of SOUTHERN DRAGON.

As there was no suitable rider available when Jockey AK Lim was stood down by the Club Medical Officer, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of STORM TO WIN at 5.32pm.

Acting on a report from the Club Veterinary Surgeon that BAKUTEH (App A Saran) had cast its near fore plate behind the barriers and was unable to be re-shod, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5.50pm.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’, the Panel of Stewards reviewed the start of this race and were satisfied that YOUARETHEBEST was riderless at the time the start was effected. Under MRA Rule 115, the Panel of Stewards declared YOUARETHEBEST (App SN Shiva) to be a non-starter. The matter into the start will be investigated at a date to be fixed.

A post-race veterinary examination of SOUTHERN DRAGON (S Salee) revealed that the gelding had returned with epicglotic entrapment and broken-winded, as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

At approximately the 300M-mark, MISS THYRA (F Yap) became crowded and had to steady, as a result of LION KING (SU Lim) which was laying out and shifted out. Jockey SU Lim was shown the video of the incident and was warned to make greater effort to keep his mount on a straight course in future.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey F Yap as the rider of MAZANZE.

A post-race veterinary examination of MAGICAL PARK (App S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry into the running and handling of MAGICAL PARK today, App S Hafis in the presence of his acting master, Trainer S Cook, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are:

He failed to make sufficient efforts to place his mount in a midfield position as instructed.

When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App S Hafis’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months, effective from Monday, 5^th September 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 4^th March 2023, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM10,000/- He was advised of his right of appeal (5.20pm).

RACE 1 (R1039) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m (lc) CHENDEROH LAKE HANDICAP

GOLDEN SHOW and WINNING SMILE both are course scratching. GOLDEN SHOW had sustained a bruised near knee while WINNING SMILE had sustained bruised both fore cannons. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Upon loading, MARTIN VJ was leaning badly at the starting stall, resulting in Jockey K Eirwan having to dismount. MARTIN VJ was re-loaded and again was leaning badly to its left side and as such, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.18pm. The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

RULE THE WORLD (HS Gill) which stood and was slow to begin, losing several lengths, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

CHERISH (L De Souza) was slow into stride.

D’GREAT OCEAN (SU Lim) shifted out from the whip at the later stages.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey SU Lim, the rider of D’GREAT OCEAN placed 2^nd against STAGESHOW (App S Hafis), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference in the straight. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of LUCK HAPPY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of LUCK HAPPY revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer Evert van Breukelen was questioned with regards to the improved performance of STAGESHOW today. The only explanation that he was able to offer is that this horse in its previous run had a bad draw and in his opinion, STAGESHOW raced in a small field today. His explanation was noted and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of THE JEWELLER today. The only explanation he was able to offer was that this horse was drawn well today and in his opinion, it was not the strongest field. App A Saran, the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT was charged with a contravention of MRA Rule 121(7) and he was fined RM1,000/- when he weighed in more than 1.5kgs over the weight he weighed out.

FARDUS (How Yang) which fractious and reared up badly, injuring itself whilst being saddled at the parade ring, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.08pm. FARDUS will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again. Jockey How Yang was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was medically stood down for the day.

At approximately the 200M-mark, IAMBUTTER (App A Azizi) became crowded and had to check, as a result of LUCKY TIGER (SU Lim) shifting out and PURPLE RAIN LADY (App S Hafis) shifting in. App S Hafis, the rider of PURPLE RAIN LADY and Jockey SU Lim, the rider of LUCKY TIGER were shown the video of the incident and they were both warned to exercise more care, when shifting ground in future.

Jockey L De Souza, the rider of GOLDEN ROOSTER reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN ROOSTER revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SHYAM SINGHA ROY reared badly as the start was effected, dislodging Jockey F Yap. SHYAM SINGHA ROY will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

CHINO DINERO (SU Lim) stumbled on jumping.

Shortly after the start, PLACE YOUR BET (App SN Shiva) had to steady when crowded between FA FA STAR (App A Saran) and MAGNOLIA BLVD (App A Azizi).

BRISTOL DIAMOND (HS Gill) entered the home straight wide.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of SILENT BOSS dropped his whip at approximately the 250M-mark.

A post-race veterinary examination of SOLID BRISK revealed that the gelding was galloped upon, suffered complete severance of SDFT and was lame near hind. SOLID BRISK was subsequently humanely euthanized.

WATER MOUNTAIN, MAESTRO, EMIRATES WARRIOR and HONEY BOWL, all are course scratching. WATER MOUNTAIN had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks. MAESTRO had sustained sole bruised off hind. EMIRATES WARRIOR had sustained tendonitis on off fore while HONEY BOWL has sustained right eye pinpoint ulceration. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

At approximately the 1400M-mark, DISCRETELY RED (S Saddam) had difficulty negotiating the turn, rolled outwards, carrying GEORGETOWN (App A Najib) outwards onto LAGO DE COMO (App AR Aiman), which in turn carried TRAFALGAR (HS Gill) wide.

Post-race veterinary examinations of AIR BOSS (Y Aify) and QIJI DIAMOND (F Yap) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App A Najib, the rider of GEORGETOWN, in the presence of his acting trainer, Trainer K Coetzee, pleaded guilty to a charge for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards under MRA Rule 44(10) in that, whilst riding GEORGETOWN which was laying in from about the 450M-mark till the winning post, he over-corrected resulting in him failing to ride with sufficient vigour and determination.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App A Najib’s guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months effective Monday, 11^th July 2022 and to expire on Monday, 10^th October 2022, both days inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (7.10pm).

SUPREME JUSTICE and MODRIC both are course scratching. SUPREME JUSTICE had sustained bruised near fore cannon while MODRIC had sustained bruised heel off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Trainer S Deva Raj was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of pacifiers on VEGAS SHOWGIRL (App AR Aiman) within the stipulated time.

INTROIT (AM Aizat) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

SUNNY STAR (S Saddam) which stood, losing considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

CHIEF CLERK (L De Souza) and IAMBUTTER (Y Aify) both came together shortly after the start.

SUNNY STAR and SAGE (S Salee) brushed between the 450M to 400M-mark.

VEGAS SHOWGIRL which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUNNY STAR revealed no obvious abnormality and CHIEF CLERK returned with respiratory distress. CHIEF CLERK will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SAGE returned lame off fore and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey S Saddam, the rider of SUNNY STAR was found guilty to a charge for incompetent riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(b)(iii) in that he failed to give SUNNY STAR sufficient rein on jumping, resulting in the gelding being considerably slow to begin.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Saddam’s riding record and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, effective Monday, 11^th July 2022 and to expire on Monday, 10^th October 2022, both days inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (6.15pm).

Passing the 600M-mark, SIMLONG BEACH (KP Lim) which was laying in, rolled inwards, inconveniencing I AM DRAGON (App R Nuqman).

At approximately the 300M-mark, SKY DRAGON (S Salee) was inconvenienced when racing tight between POWERFUL DRAGON (App AR Aiman) and I AM DRAGON.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey CK Tan, the rider of MY FIRST MILLION, was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) punishable under MRA Rule 44(8)(a) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that his mount was given the best opportunity of obtaining the best possible placing.

The details of the charge were that:-

after jumping awkwardly, he failed to make any attempt to put the horse into the race as instructed and sat quietly at the back of the field until the 450M-mark;

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey CK Tan’s riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey CK Tan was disqualified from riding in races for a period of one (1) year, effective from today, 9^th July 2022 and to expire on 8^th July 2023, both dates inclusive. In addition, Jockey CK Tan was fined the sum of RM30,000/-. He was informed of his right of appeal (6.10pm).

Jockey CK Tan subsequently lodged a notice of appeal against the disqualification and his application of a stay of sentence was not granted. His appeal proper will be heard on a date to be fixed.

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey AM Aizat to replace Jockey AK Lim, as the rider of GOLDEN ROOSTER as the latter encountered heavy highway traffic enroute to the Club.

Acting on a report from the Veterinary Surgeon that PENANG MAN (App R Nuqman) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.12pm. PENANG MAN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SPEEDY SWALLOW (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and was slow into stride.

The saddle on ASIAN JET (CK Tan) commenced to slip to the off side at the 450M-mark, placing its rider at a disadvantage. Jockey CK Tan’s saddle continue to slip, resulting in him being dislodged on pulling-up. He was subsequently examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit to resume riding.

OVERSEER and MOONSHINE MISTRESS both are course scratching. OVERSEER has sustained stoned bruised off fore sole and MOONSHINE MISTRESS had sustained sore off fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor TRINITY HONOR was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

MR DUJARDIN (App R Nuqman) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

MASTER JIANGMEN (SU Lim), CHER (Y Aify) and CHIEF CLERK (CK Tan) were slow into stride.

At approximately the 800M–mark, CHIEF CLERK started to over-race and raced into the lead.

At approximately the 500M-mark, DROUGHT stumbled and broke down, dislodging Jockey R Rueven. PURPLE RAIN LADY (S Saddam) which was following, had to take evasive actions. Jockey R Rueven, the rider of DROUGHT was exempted from weighing-in. He was subsequently examined by the Club Medical Officer and was medically stood down. Jockey R Rueven was sent to hospital for observations.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that DROUGHT had fractured its off fore cannon and was humanely euthanized. PURPLE RAIN LADY returned having cast its off fore plate.

A post-race veterinary examination of TAIWAN CAPTAIN (HS Gill) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off hind and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

After the running of this race, the Senior Starter reported that the hydraulic pump of the starting gates were faulty and the starting gates had to be changed.

At approximately the 800M-mark, the saddle slipped back badly on HAPPY LUCKY STAR, resulting in App S Sia being unable to assist and his horse dropping back. In this incident, LEEDSTHEWAY (S Salee) which was following, had to take evasive actions.

Passing the 400M-mark, HAPPY LUCKY STAR rolled outwards, crowding TILSWORTH MALI (KP Lim) which was inconvenienced.

A post-race veterinary examination of YOU ARE SPECIAL (HS Gill) revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App R Nuqman, the rider of GHOST AFFAIR, in the presence of acting master, Trainer S Deva Raj, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(v) in that he had used his whip with excessive force, causing injury to the gelding.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App R Nuqman’s guilty plea, his riding record and mitigating factors. App R Nuqman was fined the sum of RM1,000/-.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GHOST AFFAIR returned with whip- marks on its right flank, break in its skin and was swollen.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App M Ekdihar to replace Jockey Y Aify, as the rider of THE DODGER.

LIM’S DASHING (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

RELAU STAR (S Saddam) and SUPER COME (CK Tan) were slow into stride.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of LIM’S DASHING reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of LIM’S DASHING revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of SHYAM SINGHA ROY (J Chuah) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey J Chuah, the rider of SHYAM SINGHA ROY, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) punishable under MRA Rule 44(8)(a) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure that his mount was given the best opportunity of obtaining the best possible placing.

The details of the charge were that:-

after getting a good jump, he took hold of his mount at approximately the 1000M-mark and restrained it continually until approximately the 250M-mark;
thereafter, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination in the race.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Chuah’s guilty plea, his riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey J Chuah was disqualified from riding in races for a period of one (1) year, effective from Sunday, 3^rd July 2022 and to expire on 2^nd July 2023, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (7.20pm).

Acting on veterinary advices that XANTHOS (F Yap) was lame off fore and ELITE SAINT was lame off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered both withdrawals at 5.50pm. Both these geldings will be required to pass a test each (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

MISS MICHELLE (AK Lim) and ACE’S WILD (AM Aizat) which were both unable to be boxed and delaying the start, were both withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 5.55pm. Both these horses will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test each before being declared to race again.

BACK TO THE FUTURE (App M Ekdihar) was slow into stride.

App SN Shiva, the rider of EMIRATES WARRIOR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of EMIRATES WARRIOR revealed no obvious abnormality.

App AR Aiman who rode his 10^th winner on SOMAR, will now be entitled to claim 3kgs.

ROYAL FLUSH, a course scratching as it had sustained a cut on its left eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

LITTLE MASTER (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

App SN Shiva, the rider of SUPREME JUSTICE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SUPREME JUSTICE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of CODIGOS placed 3^rd against UNLIMITED STAR (How Yang), placed 2^nd on grounds of alleged interference at the 200M-mark. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the videos, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that CODIGOS (AM Aizat) would have finished ahead of UNLIMITED STAR. As such, the objection was upheld and the results were amended accordingly.

At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey How Yang, the rider of UNLIMITED STAR pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the 200M-mark, he shifted in, resulting in CODIGOS (AM Aizat) becoming crowded and having to check, losing his rightful position.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account Jockey How Yang’s riding record. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective from Monday, 19^th June 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 9^th July 2022, both dates inclusive and was informed of his right of appeal (2.10pm).

Passing the 800M-mark, MAGICAL PARK (SU Lim) shifted inwards, resulting in BALBOA (R Rueven) becoming crowded, clipped its heels and stumbled. As a result of this, INTROIT (Y Aify) which was following, clipped the heels of BALBOA and stumbled badly. FIRST PASSTHEPOST (App S Sia) had to take evasive action in this incident. At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of MAGICAL PARK pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii). Jockey SU Lim was suspended from riding in races for two (2) race days, with effect from Monday, 20^th June 2022 and to expire on Sunday, 26^th June 2022, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (2.40pm).

ROBBEN (S Salee) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

BILLION SENSE (App R Nuqman) stumbled on a number of occasions in the running and thereafter, was hanging in in the straight.

THE NEXT WAVE, MAGIC PLAYER and SO BEAUTIFUL are all course scratching. THE NEXT WAVE had sustained bruised near fore fetlock, MAGIC PLAYER had sustained stone bruised off fore foot and SO BEAUTIFUL had sustained a bruised back. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PERAK JUNE MEETING 2022 – DAY 2, SUNDAY 12^TH JUNE 2020

RACE 2 (R709) CLASS 4 (B)-1200M (lc) BALA SHARK HANDICAP

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Jockey S Rosmizan, the rider of GENERAL NIX pleaded guilty to a charge for contravention of MRA Rule 44(8) punishable under MRA Rule 44(8)(a).

The details of the charge are that:

he failed to make any attempt to ride a forward race as instructed;
he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination in the straight.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Rosmizan’s riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey S Rosmizan was disqualified from riding in races for a period of one (1) year effective from today, Saturday, 18^th June 2022 and to expire on 17^th June 2023, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined a sum of RM30,000/- and was informed of his right of appeal (12.30pm).

GENERAL REPORT – PNTC

Trainer Lim Hoon Seng was warned for infringing the PNTC’s Club’s traffic regulations by entering the multi-storey car park through an exit ramp on 16^th June 2022. He was warned that a repetition may lead to a fine being impose.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES: 21^ST MAY 2022, PENANG MAY MEETING 2022

INQUIRY INTO URINE SAMPLE “J6410” HELD AT PRTC ON SATURDAY, 18^TH JUNE 2022.

Acting on a letter submitted by Chief Analyst to the Secretary MRA, Malaysia on 16^th June 2022, pertaining to sample coded J-6410, the Stipendiary Stewards opened an inquiry/ investigation. The Chief Analyst Dr. Chan Sue Hay and Jockey KC Tham were both present. At the inquiry/investigation, it became evident as a result of the letter that sample coded J-6410 was in fact negative to Mitragynine and as such, Jockey KC Tham was informed that he had no charge to answer and that he could resume riding with immediate effect.

Urine sample coded J-6410 was initially reported for the detection of Mitragynine on 2^nd June 2022. Upon further investigation by the Usains Biomics Laboratory, it was established that there was a flaw in the laboratory’s system, which has now been rectified. Sample coded J-6410 was re-analysed and report issued dated 16/6/2022 indicating that sample coded J-6410 was in fact negative for Mitragynine.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES: 21^ST MAY 2022, PENANG MAY MEETING 2022

A report dated 16^th June 2022 (V22/080.1) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above mentioned meeting were received on 23^rd May 2022 for analysis under MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

JOJU, CHAR KWAY TEOW and QIJI ACHEEVA, all are course scratching. JOJU had sustained bilateral conjunctivitis. Both CHAR KWAY TEOW and QIJI ACHEEVA had sustained a bruised off fore sole. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RS DIAGO (Y Aify) brushed the inside gate and was slow into stride.

MAGIC SEVENTY TWO (App R Nuqman) jumped awkwardly inwards.

At approximately the 900M-mark, DISCRETELY RED (S Saddam) was crowded when racing tight on the inside of D’GREAT JOURNEY (AM Aizat). Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of D’GREAT JOURNEY was shown the video of this incident and was warned to exercise more care in future.

OCEAN LAW (M Yusri) was obliged to race wide throughout.

At approximately the 600M-mark, App SN Shiva, the rider of EXDREAM attempted to correct his saddle which had slipped sideways slightly and in so doing, his right foot slipped out of his stirrup iron and he was unable to re-gain it. At approximately the 100M-mark, App SN Shiva removed his left foot from his stirrup iron and completed the race without the use of both irons.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of RS DIAGO was fined RM1,000/- under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(i) for hitting his mount forward of its shoulder.

RACE 2 (R709) CLASS 4 (B) – 1200m (lc) BALA SHARK HANDICAP

VALENCIA which was up 40kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

VALENCIA (J Chuah) broke through the barrier and in the process, damaged the gate. As such, all horses from barrier number 6 were shifted outwards accordingly. In this incident, VALENCIA had sustained a cut on its mouth and was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.54pm. VALENCIA will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

TILSWORTH JACOBI (App A Najib) which reared up and was fractious, got cast in its barrier and as such, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.55pm.

DIAMOND RUSH (S Saddam) which stood and was slow to begin, losing several lengths, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

BACK TO THE FUTURE (Y Aify) and IAMBUTTER (AK Lim) were slow into stride.

Jockey L De Souza, the rider of AMAZING ECLIPSE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of AMAZING ECLIPSE revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of ONE FORCE (How Yang) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

An Inquiry will be held into the running and handling of GENERAL NIX (S Rosmizan) at a date to be fixed.

Acting on a report from the Veterinary Surgeon that XIONG FONG (AK Lim) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.16pm. XIONG FONG will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

FLAGSHIP (AM Aizat) was inconvenienced at the start when FANTASTIC ECLIPSE (R Rueven) jumped awkwardly inwards and SACRED GALAXY (KP Lim) jumped awkwardly outwards.

BLOOD ROYAL (App WW Cheah) and PREMIUM RUSH (C Goon) were slow into stride.

BLOOD ROYAL and PREMIUM RUSH were both obliged to race wide on the turn and thereafter, BLOOD ROYAL was hanging in, in the straight.

Jockeys C Goon and R Rueven, the riders of PREMIUM RUSH and FANTASTIC ECLIPSE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of PREMIUM RUSH revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and FANTASTIC ECLIPSE revealed no obvious abnormality. PREMIUM RUSH will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of FLAGSHIP revealed no obvious abnormality.

HIJAUAN VALDOR (R Rueven) over-raced in the early stages.

Shortly before the winning post, HIJAUAN VALDOR was inconvenienced slightly when NOVA VOCAL rolled out. App R Nuqman, the rider of NOVA VOCAL was shown the video of this incident and was warned to keep his mount on a straight course in future.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of HIJAUAN VALDOR, the 3^rd place-getter requested to view the video after the race with a view to lodge an objection. After having reviewed the video, he was satisfied that the incident did not affect the result and the ‘All Clear’ was given.

Jockey S Saddam, the rider of SILENT BOSS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SILENT BOSS revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of MYO (App WW Cheah) revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

DANCING RAIN had sustained a bruised near fore cannon and HELIOSPHERE had sustained a stone bruised near fore sole. NOT USUAL PRINCE which was up 19kgs in body weight respectively since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Rounding the turn at the 800M-mark, AHTIMS KLIS (AK Lim) was crowded when racing tight on the inside of LONELY BOY (S Rosmizan).

Approaching the 200M-mark, CHINA CAPTAIN (Y Aify) shifted out against the whip, carrying YOU ROKK (S Saddam) outwards onto NOT USUAL PRINCE (M Yusri).

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that CHINA CAPTAIN returned having cast its near fore plate.

When questioned with regards to his ride on ANDADO, Jockey R Rueven was warned that he must ensure that he rides all his mounts in such a manner so as to leave no room for query in future.

The state of track was upgraded to ‘Yielding’ after this race.

App SN Shiva, the rider of SUPREME JUSTICE was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(i) for hitting his mount forward of its shoulder.

Jockey WK Yan, the rider of DETERMINE TO WIN reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of DETERMINE TO WIN revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of THE JEWELLER reported that his mount could not handle the going today.

A post-race veterinary examination of ONE FOR ALL (S Saddam) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HAVANA (L De Souza) returned having cast its off hind plate.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, Jockey M Yusri, the rider of SONNY BILL pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards, in that he failed to make sufficient effort to ride to the instructions which were to keep his horse in touch with the field in the event that it was slowly away from the start to approximately the 400M-mark.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey M Yusri’s guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey M Yusri was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, effective Monday, 13^th June 2022 and to expire on Monday, 12^th September 2022, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (7.05pm).

RACE 7 (R714) CLASS 5(A) -1400m (sc) NORTHERN RED SNAPPER HANDICAP

BLACK MAMBA which was down 16kgs in body weight respectively since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Acting on a report from the Veterinary Surgeon that BLACK MAMBA (App R Nuqman) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5.20pm. BLACK MAMBA will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

At approximately the 1000M-mark, KEEN DRAGON (R Rueven) was crowded and had to check, as a result of PURPLE RAIN LADY (S Rosmizan) which shifted in. At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey S Rosmizan pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding PURPLE RAIN LADY, shifted in at approximately the 900M-mark, resulting in interference to KEEN DRAGON. In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Rosmizan’s guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey S Rosmizan was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective Monday, 13^th June 2022 and to expire on 2^nd July 2022, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (5.50pm).

At approximately the 400M-mark, CHIEF CLERK (CK Tan) had to be steadied off the heels of PURPLE RAIN LADY, which rolled outwards.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of KEEN DRAGON reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of KEEN DRAGON revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of LION CONQUEROR (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to the disappointing performance of LION CONQUEROR which raced poorly today, as compared with its race on 28^th May 2022 at PRTC, Trainer Evert van Breukelen was unable to offer any explanations. Acting in terms of MRA Rule 117(3), LION CONQUEROR was suspended from racing for a period of one (1) month due to its inconsistent performance. Thereafter, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
