As the start was effected, FA FA STAR threw its head to the side which resulted in this gelding losing ground at the start. The Panel was of the view that any distance lost by this gelding at the start, was as a result of its own behavior and deemed to be a runner.

The Stewards, today, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of TAVI WILL DO. Evidence was taken from Jockey M Zaki and Trainer J Lim, the rider and the Trainer of TAVI WILL DO, respectively.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, Jockey Jockey M Zaki was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that his ride on TAVI WILL DO in the straight was passive, lacking of the required vigour and determination, and a variation of his normal riding style which variation was below the expected standard of a rider in his position.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey M Zaki’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months with effect from 18 January 2026 and to expire on 17 July 2026, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
