When questioned regarding her ride on PACIFIC WARLORD, Apprentice PH Seow explained that it was not her intention to lead, however, after jumping well, she elected to take the opportunity to contest for the lead. The Panel noted her explanation.

A review was conducted into the start of this race in order to ascertain whether CHIEF ADL (App Z Syafifie) had been prejudiced by a handler or faulty starting gate. In this regard, after reviewing the footage of the race which included the stalls barrier cameras, it was established that App Z Syafifie’s feet were in the irons, this horse was released by the handler and the gates had opened on time. When questioned regarding why he was looking in the opposite direction, App Z Syafifie stated that he was unclear whether he was the last runner into the stalls. Consequently, the Panel was of the opinion that any prejudice suffered to CHIEF ADL was not due to any action of the barrier’s staff or a faulty starting gate, therefore CHIEF ADL was deemed a runner. App Z Syafifie was cautioned regarding his decision making in the stalls and the issue will be further raised with his Employing Trainer, KF Coetzee.

In the concluding stages, SMART CAT had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of KIM BELLA which shifted in.

A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer CW Choi, the Trainer of the second placed horse (SMART CAT) against the winner, KIM BELLA (Z Khairil) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Panel overruled the objection and ordered the judge’s result to stand.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of KIM BELLA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding KIM BELLA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SMART CAT in the concluding stages.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Z Khairil’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 27 October 2025 and to expire on 2 November 2025, both dates inclusive.  In lieu of one (2) Malaysian race days, he was also fined RM3,000/-.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The Stewards, today, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of PACIFIC SKY. Evidence was taken from App S Bahauddin, in the presence of his Employing Trainer J Leck who is also the Trainer of PACIFIC SKY.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, Jockey App S Bahauddin was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that he failed to ride PACIFIC SKY with the required vigour and determination in the straight despite having the opportunity to do so.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Bahauddin’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 27 October 2025 and to expire on 26 December 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

A Member of the Stipendiary Panel lodged an objection on behalf of STRONG WHITE (Y Aify), placed third, against SMART LIKE JASON (App PH Seow), placed second, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages.

Trainer J Ong was contacted regarding appearing before the Panel for this objection, however, he advised that he had already left the course and was satisfied to be represented by his Apprentice, PH Seow, in this matter. .

After considering the evidence in this matter which included that STRONG WHITE had secured its run, SMART LIKE JASON had clearly carried STRONG WHITE of its racing line, the extent of the interference and the margin (short-head) between horses at the finish,

the Panel upheld the objection and amended the placing to:

13

GOOD STAR

(Z Khairil)

Jockey was examined by the Club Doctor who stood him down from his riding engagement for the remainder of the races today. *(See Report)

At the 900M, PLATINUM EMPEROR mistrode which resulted in this horse losing its action, becoming severely unbalanced and dislodging Jockey M Lerner. Thereafter, PLATINUM EMPEROR galloped loose and collided with GOOD STAR and VALOIS which caused both Jockeys to be dislodged.  As a consequence of this incident, DREAM ALLIANCE, ANTIPODEAN, GOLDEN PEGASUS, CHEVAL BLANC and LUCKY MAGIC were inconvenienced in the running.

An inquiry was convened and evidence was taken from Jockeys O Chavez, AL Da Silva, KA Bewer, R Nuqman, Clyde Leck and Z Khairil. In this regard, it was established, in particular from the testimony of Jockey M Lerner, who was specifically questioned whether Jockey M Zaki (RAISING SIXTY-ONE) had tightened him on the turn that, PLATINUM EMPEROR racing line was not compromised and RAISING SIXTY-ONE had not interfered with PLATINUM EMPEROR. Therefore, the Panel of Stewards could not attribute blame to any individual rider for this matter and deemed it to be a racing incident.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey AL Da Silva, the rider of LUCKY MAGIC, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LUCKY MAGIC between the 1100M and the 900M, he shifted in continually which resulted in initially DREAM ALLIANCE and VALOIS being tightened for galloping room and thereafter, VALOIS having to ease significantly.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey AL Da Silva’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record, the status of the race, the significance of the interference and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 22 September 2025 and to expire on 5 October 2025, both dates inclusive.  Additionally, he was also fined RM4,000/- and advised of his Right of Appeal.

After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board upheld the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the extent of the interference and the margin at the finish and was satisfied that without the incident, PLATINUM HARVEST would have finished ahead of FATE TO WIN. The judge’s result was amended to read:

  1. PLATINUM HARVEST (M Lerner);

  2. FATE TO WIN (CK Khaw);

In this regard, he explained that his horse was travelling well and ANTIPODEAN made a quick sweeping run that when ANTIPODEAN raced alongside him, he knew it was the long course, was well positioned and travelling well, therefore he did not feel the need to take his horse outside its comfort zone when that was the bend and the long straight was ahead. He further explained that in the straight, CAVALRY unfortunately did not produce the burst of speed he would have expected from its run in transit and only stayed on into third. His explanation was noted.
